As the president of Zelouf International, Danny Zelouf oversees the company’s international textile import and export operations from its headquarters in New York City and a satellite office in Los Angeles. When he isn’t working, Danny Zelouf contributes to a number of initiatives that support Jewish communities in the United States and Israel, among them, the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF).
Established by a group of Holocaust survivors more than 35 years ago, the FIDF currently operates out of 15 regional offices throughout the United States and Panama. Its primary mission is to provide services that promote education and general well-being among Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers and the families of IDF solders who have fallen in the line of duty.
In support of this mission, the FIDF recently sponsored an exclusive screening of the documentary film Munich ’72 and Beyond at City Cinemas 123 on 3rd Avenue in New York City on January 24, 2017. The event was designed to spread awareness about the hostage crisis at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Germany.
Directed by Stephen Crisman and executive produced by Michael Cascio, Munich ’72 and Beyond tells the story of the 11 Israeli athletes and the terrorists who killed them during the Munich games. It also follows the construction of the Munich Memorial Project, a tribute to the slain Olympians that was spearheaded by the German States Ministry for Education, Science and Culture in partnership with the International Olympic Committee and the Foundation for Global Sports Development. Two producers with Global Sports Development, Steven Ungerleider and David Ulich, worked with Mr. Crisman and Mr. Cascio to help make Munich ’72 and Beyond a reality.
